Flight     (To Suratthani via Bangkok)

Your flight to Thailand is not paid for by the school. If you wish to stay in Thailand for more than one year it might be cheaper to purchase a one way ticket. After two years you can purchase another one way ticket. Air flights are cheaper in Thailand as the point of purchase. If you wish to go home after one year and then return, maybe a return ticket from Thailand is cheaper. Give us the details and we can find some prices for you.

Insurance

Any sort of insurance in Thailand is very expensive and the cover is very limited. Health and general insurance is not widely used by the majority of Thai people. I found that the cost of medical insurance and the limited cover made it very poor value. I decided that to pay  cash for one major illness per year was cheaper and less bother than to take out medical insurance. I have not been ill for five years so I am in pocket by a considerable sum. All medical drugs are available "over the counter" and the pharmacists in Thailand are very helpful and will recommend treatment for minor illnesses.
