| QUALIFICATIONS |
| To work in a bilingual school in Thailand
the ideal candidate will be a western teacher who is a native English speaker.
They should have either: |
| A Bachelor of Teaching or Education,
a Post-graduate Diploma in Teaching or Education. |
or |
| A Bachelor of arts / science or similar
with at least 15 credit points in education theory or subjects. A
TESOL certificate may be presented as evidence of education theory and subjects
where 15 credits have not been achieved. |

| EXPERIENCE |
| A teacher with relevant teaching experience in a primary
school |
|
|
|
|
|
| AGE RANGE |
| In the academic year 2007-8, the age range will be from
Kindergarten to Year 3. |
|
|
| THE CURRICULUM |
| This particular vacancy would suit a
teacher who is able to deliver Foundation Stage
3-5 and The National Curriculum for
England to Key stage 2. We also use The University
of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Starters, Movers & Flyers) |

| SALARY AND HOLIDAYS |
| The contract, visas and documentation are for a 12
month period. There a 15 days of public holidays throughout the year
which are paid. There is also a two week paid holiday in October. Teachers
are not required to be in school during the month of April. The April
salary is paid in the form of a bonus, equivalent to one month's average
salary, for the satisfactory completion of the 12 month contract. All salaries
are paid into the teacher's personal Thai bank account and the balance can
be withdrawn in any country with an "Electron ATM card " issued by the Thai
bank. |

| HOLIDAYS AND BENEFITS |
| The contracts begin on 1st May and terminate on the 30th
April |
| There are approximately 13-15 public
holidays in each year. When these holidays occur on
a teaching day the school is closed. These holidays are paid. |
| There will be a paid holiday of two weeks during the month
of October |
| The month of April is not worked |
| Total paid holiday is approximately 9 weeks per
year |
| Five days teaching per week. |
| 23 contact hours and 17 preparation hours per week |
| Up to 5 hours paid overtime per week to cover classes
for sick colleagues or when demand requires it. Further overtime is
optional |
| Staff uniform provided free of charge |
| Teacher's permit, visa and work permit for12
months. NB. The initial Non-Immigrant B visa is not
included. |
| 24 hour helpline to an English speaking school manager, who
can sort out any immediate crisis. |
| Training and issue of a certificate of Basic "Thai language
and Cultural Awareness". This certificate is now mandatory for employment
in Thailand. |
| Free in-service training, guidance and professional
support when the need arises |
| The contract is renewable by mutual agreement |
